The ‘Classic Country’ concert celebrates the country music artists of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s who kept the dancehalls going under the threat of the ‘Disco’s’. Through these artists, we celebrate a special time in country and Irish music
Kathy Durkin is one of Ireland’s leading female entertainers and recording artists for over 30 years. Kathy has recorded many singles and albums during her career including her version of ‘Working Man’ that spent an incredible one year in the Irish charts and was voted best single in Ireland in 1991/92.
It was always John Hogan’s dream to get involved in showbusiness and the opportunity came in 1987 when he recorded a song titled ‘Brown Eyes’. John celebrates over 30 years of success as an entertainer and songwriter.
In 1981 Shawn Cuddy, influenced by Margo and Big Tom, decided to form a country music band and has never looked back. For over 30 years, Shaun has toured extensively in Ireland and the UK where he is now a household name and has earned the respect of his many fans.
Gloria rose to fame in Ireland in the 1970’s with ‘One Day at a Time’ which became the biggest Irish hit of all time. It reached No 1 in the Irish charts and remained there for 90 weeks – the longest run of any single in Irish chart history.

Opry le Daniel, is delighted to bring together three of Ireland’s amazing songstress’ to share a stage in the company of our wonderful host, Daniel O Donnell. Audiences will be thrilled with a packed set list of solo performances and some unique duets and collaborations. A musical night not to be missed.
Following Donna Taggart’s whirlwind Global success with ‘Jealous of the Angels’, which has topped the charts in a host of countries across the world, it’s no surprise that her debut concert tour in Ireland received outstanding reviews. Her distinctive emotional singing style has drawn comparisons with the likes of Eva Cassidy, Mary Black and Alison Krauss.
Niamh Mc Glinchey’s music is an eclectic mix of folk, country and americana styles, all sprinkled with her “velvet voice” and her ability to charm audiences with her personable style. The skilful singer was also awarded The Tammy Wynette Inspirational Music Award in 2016 for her success in songwriting and is currently working on a new album.
In 2011, Jacqui Sharkey recorded her debut studio album ‘A New Dawn’ and since then has become a well-known name on the UK and Irish music scene. Jacqui has opened for music legend Billy Ocean at the National Concert Hall in Dublin and is looking forward to appearing on Opry le Daniel.
