GEORGE JONES TRIBUTE:
Georgette Jones / Jimmy Buckley / Robert Mizzell
George Jones was an American musician, singer and songwriter who achieved international fame for his long list of hit records, including his best known song ‘He Stopped Loving her Today’, as well as his distinctive voice and phrasing.
During his six decades as a professional singer-songwriter, he recorded over 900 songs and left an incredible legacy of over 150 hits both as a solo artist and in duets.
Opry le Daniel will celebrate this legacy and have invited George’s daughter with Tammy Wynette, Georgette Tamala Jones, to be part of the show, singing her father’s songs and speaking about her famous father.
Also, as part of the concert, Opry will have Jimmy Buckley and Robert Mizzell perform some of George Jones’s well known hits. Jimmy was a great friend of Jones and toured with him here in Ireland and recorded some of his hits. George Jones is Robert Mizzell’s idol and he met him many times in Nashville.
