HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY
Northern Ireland commemoration event to mark the Holocaust and other genocides that occurred.
The Theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2018 is ‘The Power of Words’ and the event intends to invite the audience to reflect on this theme and how words can make a difference – both for good and evil.
The event will also include a testimony from a survivor, Dr Martin Stern, of the Holocaust, originally from the Netherlands and who was just 5 years old when he was sent to concentration camps along with his 1 year old sister. Dr Stern was recently in the North West area and met with over 2500 young people and community groups where he shared his experiences and presented his thoughts on ‘ the Holocaust and Genocide and why humans do such things?’
The annual event is usually by invitation, however the organisers are keen that anyone with an interest has the opportunity to attend this event and therefore everyone is welcome and tickets are available from the Millennium Office Box Office.
