ISLA GRANT / JIM REEVES TRIBUTE
JIM REEVES TRIBUTE:
Al Grant / Tony Kerr / Patrick Feeney / Matt Leavy
Jim Reeves was also known affectionately as “Gentleman Jim”, and his songs became well known for their Nashville Sound as they continued to chart for years after his death.
Jim Reeves, with his versatility in crossing the music charts, appealed to audiences that weren’t necessarily country/western with his catalogue of songs such as “Adios Amigo”, “Welcome to My World”, and “Am I Losing You?” demonstrating this appeal. Many of his Christmas songs have become perennial favourites including “C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S”, ‘Blue Christmas’ and “An Old Christmas Card”.
Jim’s international popularity during the ’60’s surpassed his popularity in the United States, helping to give country music a worldwide market for the first time.
Opry Le Daniel celebrates the incredible legacy of Jim Reeves and taking part in this wonderful tribute show are singers Al Grant, Matt Leavy, Tony Kerr and Patrick Feeney.
Isla Grant’s love of music started at an early age when she would listen to mainly Scottish and Irish recordings, while her brothers were at that time listening to jazz, pop and skiffle. At fourteen, Isla started to sing in the folk clubs, mainly in Scotland and the north east of England, and it was then that she discovered ‘country’ and that is what changed her style in music.
After eleven albums, some of which have gone triple platinum, Isla started her own record label (I.G.E.) and released her first album on her own label in October 2008.
Isla loves to tour, where she gets the chance to meet all her loyal fans and we are sure that there will be many of them with us at Opry le Daniel . We are delighted to be welcoming Isla to the Opry stage and look forward to a wonderful night of song.
Please note: these concerts are recorded for TG4 television and an age limit of 16 and over applies
