By Catherine Ming | Jul 31, 2024 | News

The Millennium Forum has just announced details of its brand new programme of events for Sept-Dec 2024. The North West’s premier theatre has plenty to offer audiences young and old with a host of comedy, drama, live music and family shows that will keep everyone entertained throughout the coming months.
The season opens with the anticipated return of the ever-popular, Wolfe Tones, who bring their 60th Anniversary Farewell Tour in September. There’s plenty of music on offer this season, with legendary local singer-songwriter, Paul Brady, returning to the Forum stage in October, and the Ulster Orchestra bringing their popular, Magic Of Christmas show in December. Country Music fans will be delighted to see the return of Robert Mizzell and the Johnny Cash tribute show, Cash Returns, both in October.
As always, there is plenty of comedy to keep everyone in good spirits this season. Jimmy Carr returns in September as does Milton Jones with his brand new show, Ha!milton! Al Murray also returns with his new show, Guv Island, in November. Lots of popular Irish comedians are also gracing the stage once again; you can catch Mickey Bartlett, Colin Geddis and Shane Todd this season with their brand new shows.
If it’s comedy-drama that’s more your thing, then Sex In The City Hall is guaranteed to give you plenty of belly laughs. From the writers of the hit shows, The Hen Do and Bridesmaids Of NI, Diona Doherty and Sean Hegarty bring us this laugh out loud, high energy comedy that local audiences will love.
November sees the welcome return of Michael Flatley’s Lord Of The Dance. This incredible show has always been a huge hit with local audiences. Since its premiere, it has become one of the most successful touring productions in entertainment history and the Forum team can’t wait for everyone to see it on stage once again.
The Forum team is also looking forward to panto season with this year’s offering, Aladdin, later this year. Conal Gallen returns as the ‘beautiful’ Dame, Widow Twankey, in the annual festive extravaganza. Proudly sponsored by the Richmond Centre, this year’s panto promises lots of fun for all the family, so it’s time to make your Christmas dreams come true this holiday season.
The new season at the Forum is a fantastic line-up that’s guaranteed to keep you entertained as the darker nights approach. As the team gets ready to welcome customers to its new season, theatre goers may also notice its newly revamped auditorium and surrounding bar areas that the team have worked on over the summer; these refurbishments are all part of the theatre’s preparation for a grand celebration of its 25th anniversary in 2026. In the meantime, the Forum team invite you to sit back, relax in the new seats and enjoy a fabulous line-up of events for September-December!
