 A Viennese Strauss Gala takes to the stage on Wednesday 6th February.

This glittering production is about to enter its fifteenth year and features soloists from the major British opera companies such as Opera Welsh National opera, D’Oyle Carte and Scottish Opera.

Recreating the nostalgia and romance of the Viennese Festive season, this show introduces the audience to a bygone age of glamorous soirees and Strauss waltzes and comprises highlights from some of the great operettas of Strauss, Kalman and Lehar, including Die Fleidermaus, The Merry Widow and many more.

Internationally renowned soprano, Megan Llewelyn, will perform alongside three exceptional artists. Megan’s recent roles include Mother Abbess in the UK tour of The Sound of Music and Carlotta in London’s West End production of The Phantom Of The Her Majesty’s Theatre. Her other theatre credits include: The Merry Widow, The Tales of Hofmann, Showboat, Bless The Bride, Carousel and Orpheus among others. Megan is also in much demand for concert recitals and has worked as a guest soloist at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and Westminster Central Hall.

Peter Wilman the tenor will be returning to the production having played leading roles for Welsh National Opera and he is joined by Richard Immergluck and soprano Olivia Lewis.

The talented lead singers from National Opera companies are complimented by The European Orchestral Ensemble, a hand-picked ensemble of some of the finest musicians in Europe.
