Moves and Melodies

Moves and Melodies is an age friendly project in the Millennium Forum that includes song and dance workshops for 60 people.

This project will be provided complimentary and will be held once a month in our Studio Theatre. The music facilitator is Fiona Logue and the dance facilitators are Emma Lindsay and Claire Harkin. There will be an opportunity to learn new dance skills and sing a range of song styles every month.

After completing a dance performance degree in 2010 Claire went on to complete a masters in Dance Movement Psychotherapy in 2013. FIONA LOGUE

Fiona is a highly experienced choral conductor, pianist and accompanist. and taught music for many years in St Cecelia’s College. When completing her Masters in Music qualification, Fiona’s chosen focus was on Music in the Community. Her specialist area of research concentrated on the effect music can have on people living with dementia or other forms of memory loss.

Fiona is a firm believer in ‘music for all’ and this conviction led her to establish the group Melodies & Memories in 2017. This is an inclusive music group for people living with dementia, their family members and friends, as well as extending a warm welcome to older people in the community who like to sing. Fiona is very excited to be involved with the wonderful Moves & Melodies project and she is looking forward to meeting many talented singers and dancers.
