The Millennium Forum have announced that members of the NOW Group will volunteer at its InterAct Youth Arts Festival which is currently running across various locations, including the Forum, throughout July.
NOW Group is a social enterprise organisation who support those who are neurodiverse, have hidden disabilities and/or learning support needs. Employment Officers all over Northern Ireland work under SkillSET to support individuals with direct support into employment, training, and education. They also have an in-house training team who facilitate training OCN courses and some soft skills as well as a Family Support Service and Community Services based in Belfast, Omagh and Enniskillen.
Mags Anderson, Education Officer at the Millennium Forum, is delighted to host the group during the InterAct Festival. She said:
“We are delighted to welcome volunteers from NOW Group to our festival this year. It’s incredibly important to us to make the festival an all-inclusive event and we are especially grateful to all the volunteers who are taking part this year. I am sure that they will bring lots of skills to our festival and, at the same time, gain plenty of experience that they can then take with them for future employment.”
Rebecca Waugh, Employment Officer, NOW Group, added:
“Our participants are hugely looking forward to their involvement with the Millennium Forum at their Youth Festival this July. Our participants are incredibly creative, and some aspire to work in this field in the long term; some already have masses of experience and education surrounding the creative arts industry. They are all incredibly happy and grateful to be involved in this project!
We look forward to working collaboratively with the Millennium Forum on projects in the future supporting our youth community.”
The Forum’s InterAct Youth Arts Festival, sponsored by Firmus Energy, continues throughout July across various locations, including the Millennium Forum. For more information, contact Mags Anderson, on magsc@millenniumforum.co.uk
