CHARLEY PRIDE/BRENDAN QUINN & SONS
CHARLEY PRIDE, the King of American Country Music, will appear on Opry le Daniel at the Millennium Forum on Sunday, 13th May 2018!
Confirmation that this living legend of true country music is breaking off from his ’50 Years of Hits’ concert tour in America to appear with his long time friend and fellow songster Daniel O’ Donnell at Derry’s Millennium Forum has been met with jubilation from the large country music following which abounds throughout the North West, Donegal, Strabane, Omagh, Dungiven, Limavady areas and indeed, further afield where fans of Charley Pride and Daniel O’ Donnell will no doubt be queuing to purchase tickets for this ‘once in a lifetime show’!
Charley will be joined by Brendan Quinn. Brendan is so much a part of Irish country music that he can easily be referred to as ‘Legend’. Brendan started in the music business as a guitar player at age fifteen and his recording of Kris Kristofferson’s ‘Help Me Make It Through The Night’ in 1969 cemented his future as one of Ireland’s foremost entertainers.
In recent years he formed a band with old friend and guitar wizard Arty McGlynn called ‘The Kickin Mule’ and can also be seen with playing guitar in his son James’ band. Recently Brendan has been doing a tribute to Neil Diamond, a 30 song spectacular which has sold out around Ireland and England twice round. He has shared the bill (and sometimes the stage) with other legends such as Merle Haggard, George Jones, Don Williams, Gene Watson and Hal Ketchum.
Brendan will be appearing in this unique ‘Country Music Family’ concert on opening night of Opry le Daniel with his sons James and Stephen.
Please note: these concerts are recorded for TG4 television and an age limit of 16 and over applies
