RECYCLED FASHION

As part of the battle against fast fashion this workshop will help young people to understand the detrimental effects of our throw away culture and teach them new skills on how to reuse and recycle fabrics. Sewing and pattern cutting will be amongst the skills used but these will not be the major focus. Using old garments and fabric scraps, they will use other faster methods to create new couture. These include heating, burning, gluing, ripping, stretching, paining and knotting. By the end of the project these students will be modelling totally new and original fashions. They will also have a better understanding of fabrics and how to manipulate them into something new.
