ALL EYES ON SPECSAVERS FOR ACCESS AT THE MILLENNIUM FORUM

The Millennium Forum is delighted to announce that Specsavers Derry/Londonderry will continue as the theatre’s Principal Access Partner for the next two years. Their support will enable the North West’s leading arts venue to further develop its award-winning access programme, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring that the arts is fully accessible to everyone.

Cara Mc Cartney, Development & Creative Engagement Manager, said:

“As a registered charity, the Millennium Forum is very grateful for the support of local business.  The renewal of our Access Partnership with Specsavers is testament to the success of our ongoing Access Programme and reinforces the hard work of our team in delivering award-winning events and initiatives throughout the year that continue to put our customers first in recognising and adapting to their needs.

The sponsorship will create further opportunities for staff engagement and training in access initiatives for both parties. As the premier arts venue in the Northwest, we continue to lead the way in accessibility and look forward to ensuring our building is also fully accessible for customers.”

Lisa Heaney Box Office & Access Manager added:

“We are delighted to have Specsavers renew as our Access Sponsor.    The Millennium Forum is a forward thinking proactive organisation and the continued partnership with Specsavers will ensure we achieve our aim of being accessible for all. A representative from their local store will also continue to be a part of our Access Working Group.”

“The Millennium Forum is trusted and well renowned in the North West. As a locally owned and run store, we are proud to continue to support an organisation that has a special place in the minds of, and the affections of the people of the community in which we live and work.

“At Specsavers, we aim to change lives by making expert care accessible and affordable to all, and therefore the Forum’s Access initiative is a sponsorship that makes total sense – it aligns with our values and is our way of giving back to the community that trusts and supports us.

“The Access Initiative is such a great and worthwhile project as it makes it easier for groups with disabilities to enjoy the Arts. It’s something we’re honoured to be involved with and we look forward to continuing to help the Forum make a real difference.”

Sean McCauley, Optometrist Director at Specsavers Derry/Londonderry said:

The Millennium Forum is trusted and well renowned locally. It has a special place in the minds of, and the affections of the people of the North West. It is therefore an ideal organisation for us to align ourselves with.

When people see Specsavers, they see the clever ads and the big brand. What a lot of people are not aware of is that Specsavers are franchises and are owned by people who live in the City.

Our Sponsorship of the Forum and the Access initiative is our way of giving back to and getting more involved with our community. The Access Initiative is such a great and worthwhile project as it makes it easier for groups with disabilities to enjoy the Arts.”
