Sing Song Down Memory Lane
Nicholl Oils and the Millennium Forum, were particularly interested in developing their older audiences and customers and wanted to give something back to people in the community.
With investment from Arts &Business NI, Nicholl Oils and the Millennium Forum, were able to provide sing song sessions targeted at older people living with Dementia to local care homes in the area.
‘Sing Song Down Memory Lane’ featured interactive singing sessions which was hosted by the Millennium Forum panto cast under the direction of Alan Wright, all of whom are trained in dementia awareness. These sessions gave people living with dementia the chance to become familiar with the songs from the Christmas pantomime, to come together, and relive and create new memories.
It was a heart-warming project which worked with numerous care home and community groups in our local areas. It gained extensive media exposure and included a slot on UTV live and created new pantomime audiences for the Millennium Forum.
